Purpose

Teachers learn to confidently and safely guide Vinyasa yoga classes, integrating anatomical knowledge and philosophical depth into their teaching practice.

What to expect

This is a comprehensive, deep dive into the practice and teaching of yoga, offering a blended experience of theory, spiritual study, and extensive practice teaching.

The curriculum balances the physical and spiritual, requiring you to commit to daily Vinyasa practice and complete a 21-day meditation practice and a 21-day mala practice (mantra chanting). You will participate in practice teaching for every major pose category and submit a final full-class teaching assessment. Expect hands-on learning, including:

  • Philosophical Immersion: You will read the entire Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras to understand concepts like karma, dharma, and the wisdom of quieting the mind.

  • Specialized Application: You will experience and learn to teach Restorative Yoga , Yin Yoga , and receive an introduction to Prenatal Yoga.

  • Trauma & Safety: You will participate in exercises on Systemic Imprinting and Trauma to learn how to hold a safe space.

Style/Lineage

This training is primarily rooted in Vinyasa Yoga, taught through the specific methodology of the Blank Yoga School.

The style emphasizes a healthy and safe practice built on a clear sequencing structure that gradually builds, sustains, and then decreases heat. Philosophically, the lineage draws deeply from traditional texts:

  • The Eight Limbs: The program includes an in-depth study of the Yamas and Niyamas, focusing on how to practice them both on and off the mat.

  • Guru's Teachings: Students watch a film on the life and teachings of Swami Satchidananda, referred to as the "Birth of the Modern Yoga Movement".
